Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator with NBC News in Washington D.C. and is a television anchor. She earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing in New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell started her job as a journalist for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. In 1976, she joined CBS affiliate WDVM-TV in Washington DC (then WTOP). In the following two years, she became an general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981 began covering the White House and became chief of the congressional reporter in 1988. Mitchell was appointed Chief White House correspondent in 1992 and the chief foreign affairs correspondent at NBC News in 1994. Mitchell appeared as both a host and panelist in the TV news show Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist during the 1988 presidential debates between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan who was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government for her outstanding performance in journalism. In 2004, The Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award to recognize of her contribution to the protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell worked in The White House first for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, in the two years that Ronald Reagan served as president. Mitchell covered a wide range of notable stories, including the Iran-contra scandal and tax reform. She was with Ronald Reagan in numerous visits for world summits and wrote frequently.
